Get to know our Spanish School in Ecuador

Vida Verde Spanish School Entrance

Vida Verde is the first ecological school in Ecuador! We are a green school. We want to contribute to environmental conservation and sustainability in Ecuador. That's why we support green projects with a minimum of 10% of the Spanish school's annual profits.

Studying with us means investing in and helping to protect Ecuador's rich and unique eco-systems.

Most of the projects we financially support also offer eco-tourism and/or internships. For some of these projects our Spanish School offers Spanish classes on site in combination with eco-tours organized by the host project. You enjoy your usual Spanish classes in the middle of an ecological adventure!

There are eco-friendly Spanish stays available on the Ecuadorian Coast and in the Ecuadorian Jungle.

The Spanish School

In keeping with our name, we also strive to keep our Spanish school itself green. Nieves, our housekeeper, grows plants indoor and outdoor around the school. All the organic waste from kitchen and garden is recycled in a compost pile and provides fresh soil for new plants.

Behind the school there is a large patio where teachers and students have coffee and lunch breaks and can enjoy Quito's marvellous sunny days. Many of our school activities also take place there. In the kitchen coffee and tea is available all day. Internet is available at three computer stations. The classrooms are private and cozy with plenty of daylight.

Location

Our Spanish school is located in a spacious colonial house on a tranquil side street in the La Mariscal tourist district, in the heart of modern Quito. The historic colonial center ("Old Town"), local markets, several parks and many other attractions worth a visit are close by. At our office you can pick up a handy street map of Quito on which we have marked our Spanish school, several parks, neighborhoods and other points of interest.
