¡Hola! Welcome to our Spanish school in Ecuador!

We are happy you found your way to our Spanish School in Quito, Ecuador, in South America. Some would say though that we are more than just a Spanish school. To our students, guests, teachers, staff, hosts and friends Vida Verde Spanish School is a family!

Rosa Proaño, Founder of Vida Verde Spanish School

Welcome dear guest!

I am Rosa Proaño, the founder and principal of our Spanish School in Ecuador.

Since its foundation in 1999 we have been turning the business of teaching and learning Spanish into an unforgettable and inspiring experience for both students and teachers. I would like to tell you something about the reason our students have had such a great time studying, living and working with our school, our vision and experiences!

Our Spanish school is an individual school and we would like to keep it that way. I believe, this is one of the reasons we are able to maintain the family ambience. Our students feel a part of the family Vida Verde from their very first days in Ecuador! I have been living the Vida Verde life for over 10 years and don't want to miss it!

But it is not only the ambience, but also the way we understand teaching and learning Spanish has made a significant difference. While common approaches rely on a formal and strictly scholarly interaction between student and teacher, this just wouldn't do for us! What about all the fun involved in learning a foreign language? We are NOT only "bringing life to the class room"; our class room is life itself. We realized that we at Vida Verde are a family consisting of students, teachers, staff, hosts and friends and we enjoy living this family life! This has been our key to turn learning Spanish into the fun of a lifetime while being highly effective.

Now, what about you? Would you like to find a new family in Ecuador? For two weeks? Or maybe for a lifetime? You can do this from your home by taking online classes or here in Ecuador. You can choose to stay with a Vida Verde host family and get the most out of the Ecuadorian experience.

Make yourself comfortable and browse through our web pages to get a picture of what Vida Verde Spanish School has to offer. We are always happy to respond to your call, e-mail or instant message and of course we at Vida Verde would love to meet you in person!

Vida Verde means Green Life!

a green plant at Vida Verde Spanish SchoolNot only do we adorn our school with plants and flowers, but Vida Verde is a part of the small, but growing, green movement here in Ecuador. We have built partnerships with selected environmental and conservation-based projects. Furthermore we support the Rio Muchacho Organic Farm with 10% of our annual profits.

In addition, Vida Verde offers a number of exciting options for students to both study Spanish and participate in responsible ecotourism at the same time. Through our Study in the Jungle and Study on the Coast programs, teachers accompany students and give classes "on location" as part of an integrated study/tourism adventure. We can also assist you in organizing internships within our green partnerships.
