Meet the Teachers and Staff!

All of our teachers are native Spanish speakers with a minimum of 6 years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language (Avg. is 10 years per instructor). Teachers regularly attend training seminars and short courses in order to improve their teaching methods and grammatical knowledge of Spanish. The majority of our teachers are certified to prepare students for the DELE exam. Collectively, our teachers have instructed hundreds of students in the Spanish language using the one-to-one system, which has proven to be the most rapid and effective way to learn Spanish.

Lic. Patricia M. Calderón

EDUCATION: Masters Degree in Castellano (Spanish Language) and Literature. Universidad Central del Ecuador.

Patricia has over 15 years of experience teaching intensive Spanish to foreigners. She is our Academic Director and as such is responsible for developing and maintaining our intensive language program. She also provides instruction to advanced students. Patricia is the principal author of "Español del Mundo", the primary text used in our program. She has conducted numerous training workshops and seminars on teaching Spanish as a second language.

Patricia Ochoa

She is married and loves spending time with her 3 kids

Martha Vaca

EDUCATION: Degree in Education- Specialization in Cultural development

Martha has 6 years of experience teaching Spanish to foreigners.
She enjoys teaching spanish and relating to people from different parts of the world
She also enjoys travelling

Edwin Hernandez

Miguel Terán

Hipatia Alarcón
EDUCATION: University Degree in Education- Specialization Grammar & Literature

Hipatia has over 20 years of experience teaching Spanish to both foreigners and Ecuadorians at the university level.
She enjoys spending time with her 2 children
She enjoys dancing, hiking, and reading

Mercedes Proaño
EDUCATION: Superior psychology in the university "Católica" in Quito

Mercedes is one of our Spanish online-teachers here in the school and has instructed students for more than 6 years.
Furthermore, she is the manager of Casa Vida Verde and is currently writing her exam in psychology.
Writing and reading as well as travelling are part of her leasure time.

Edith Ochoa
EDUCATION: Degree of the University "Católica" in Quito - Specialization in Spanish as a second language

Edith has over 7 years of experience teaching Spanish to students.
Moreover, she likes to meet people from all over the world.
In her free time she travels in Ecuador, reading and dancing

Administration

Rosa Proaño

Rosa is the Administrative Director and a co-founder of the Vida Verde Spanish Center. She has over 19 years of experience in language school administration and working with international students. Rosa insures that everything at the school runs smoothly and is available to help students with whatever thay may need. This includes everything from airport pickup to classes in traditional cooking.

Stefan Breichler

Stefan from Germany is Student Coordinator at Vida Verde and the "information bridge" between the administration, teachers and students in the school. He organises and runs the activities of the school, attends to the registrations and enquiries, carry out different marketing tools and finally is solely responsible for the webdesign. Since mid of March 2007 he has been travelling and working in Central and South America.
