Albergue de Ecoturismo, Comunidad de Chontal (no volunteer work offered; will be actualized soon!!!)

The "Comite de Turismo" is an association of 15 people, most of them from Chontal and the near region. The main object of this project is to realise a responsible way of living and at the same time create a model that shows that it is possible to live “ecologically”. Together we build “cabañas” and facilities, help the farmers cultivate their fruit-farms (oranges, coffee, cacao, sugarcane…). Also we offer environmental education to the kids, adolescents and adults and teach them English. Our favourite topics of work are: organic agriculture, water purifying systems, solar panels, silos, fruit and food processing, bio-regional economics, music, dance, theatre, spirituality, peaceful ecological activism, bartering,… We are interested in developing our ecological commune with volunteers from all over the world because we think that everyone is responsible for our one and only planet. Visitors, volunteers, friends and enemies, everyone is welcome!!! You have the possibility to work in schools, butterfly farms and different fincas. Río Muchacho Organic Farm & School

The Río Muchacho Organic farm is in the Río Muchacho valley on the mid coast of Ecuador. The entrance is situated 30 kms north of Bahía de Caráquez on the San Vicente- Pedernales road. The farm is 8 kms inland. Río Muchacho now has an important role in demonstrating alternatives like biogas, solar power, composting systems, worm culture, water recycling, reforestation and forage systems, permaculture, organic farming techniques and environmental tourism. Maquipucuna

The Maquipucuna Foundation is a non profit organization that was established in 1988 and works for the conservation of the tropical and cloud forests of Ecuador. The Macipucuna reserve itself is located about 2.5 hours north west of Quito, and has a few different indigenous communities located within and near it. Volunteers for Macipucuna can work with organic agriculture, making crafts with recyclyed paper, or teaching english to the people of the native communities. Click here for more information.

Guarderia y Escuela Los Sueños de Alfred

This foundation is located in the heart of Quito´s Historical Town and has showed experience in the education of children since 12 years. The children are aged from 3 months to 6 years. The foundation may look after 120 kids in their facilities.
There is no minimum period required, however, a social work with children demands a kind of sustainability over several weeks. Click here for more information.

CENIT is a non-profit NGO located in a marginalized urban area of Quito, Ecuador. Now in its 14th year, CENIT provides a variety of support services to working girls and their families to help them rise out of grinding poverty. Fundación Abuelitos y Abuelitas de la Calle

This foundation is situated near to our Spanish Center in Quito - so you have the possibility to volunteer and study Spanish at the same time. The foundation offers different services to the poor old people of Quito like breakfast, lunch, toilets, accompagnied walks, medical help, activity planning and much more.
