Baños

Baños is a small town about 3 hours by bus from Quito. It is best known for its numerous extreme sports and adventure activities, such as zip lining, rafting, bungee jumping and canyoning. The town is close to the volcano Tungurahua and is surrounded by the cloud forest. Therefore, there are many possibilities to go on hikes right through the forest to see many interesting birds, flowers and the beautiful landscape. But that is not all: Baños also is a nice place to relax. Its many natural thermal pools invite to spend a stress-free day enjoying the nature while floating in the beautiful pools.

Plantas y Blanco

The Hostel “Plantas y Blanco” is a longtime favorite for backpackers: Its simple but bright rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff is very helpful if you want to book tours and activities in and around the town. The big roof terrace invites to long evenings discussing travel experiences with fellow backpackers, or relaxing with a nice beer after a long day of exciting activities.
